Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Curiowatt and its internal publishing tool, Curiowatt Publisher ("we", "our"), handle information. Curiowatt Publisher is a first-party application operated solely by Curiowatt to upload Curiowatt's own videos to Curiowatt's own YouTube channel. It is not offered to third parties and has no other users.

Use of YouTube API Services

Curiowatt Publisher uses YouTube API Services to upload videos. By using our application you are also agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Information handled through Google APIs is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.

What we access

The application authenticates through Google OAuth using a single permission, the youtube.upload scope. This permission allows the application to upload videos to the YouTube channel that authorized it. The application does not read viewer data, subscriber data, comments, watch history, or analytics, and it does not access any Google data outside of uploading our own videos.

What we store

An OAuth credential (a refresh token) for the authorizing Curiowatt account, stored locally on the operator's own machine and used only to obtain short-lived access tokens for uploading.
The video files and the metadata we author for our own videos, such as title, description, and tags.

We do not collect or store any data about viewers or other YouTube users.

How we use information

Accessed permissions and stored credentials are used for one purpose only: to upload Curiowatt's finished videos, with the metadata and content labels we set, to Curiowatt's own YouTube channel.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share any information obtained through YouTube API Services or Google APIs with any third party. The OAuth credential is never transmitted to anyone and is not used for any purpose other than uploading to our own channel.

Curiowatt Publisher's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and revocation

The stored OAuth credential is retained only while the application is in use and can be deleted by the operator at any time. Access granted to the application can be reviewed and revoked at any time from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access immediately stops the application from uploading.

Changes

We may update this policy as the application changes. Material updates will be reflected by a new effective date at the top of this page.
